The preliminary geotechnical evaluation for the new shelter property has been completed. The survey was conducted by Terracon Consultants, Inc./Earth Exploration, Inc. from Indianapolis.
The geotechnical survey tells us about the soil at the building site so that the proper fill will be used and the structure will be properly supported.
Additionally, documents have been submitted to the state for septic requirements and we are awaiting a land survey.
The Brown County Humane Society has selected the architecture firm of Shelter Planners of America for the design and build of the new animal shelter building. They have over 30 years of shelter planning experience and have worked with more than 750 shelter groups.
The first step was developing a Needs Assessment to determine the unique needs for our organization and community. What are the concerns, where are the opportunities? From there, a shelter plan was developed.
