A New Building and a Brighter Future
For fifty-four years the Brown County Humane Society has provided the only animal sheltering and adoption option in Brown County. We are a respite for homeless pets. We’ve reunited lost pets with their families, housed the homeless, fed the starved, healed the ill and injured and created “happily ever after stories” for thousands of pets and their new families. Over 25,000 pets have called the shelter their temporary home. Our Save Rate of 98% is one of the highest in the country.
When the current animal shelter was first conceived, no one could have imagined the variety of programs or need for public services that the Humane Society would face. Through these efforts, the Brown County Humane Society touches almost every member of the community.
The current building has long served the Humane Society, but the needs of the organization and the community have surpassed the capabilities of the existing structure.
It’s time for something new.
