Community Raises $200,000 for Dr. James Brester Animal Treatment Room
Thanks to the support of so many, $200,000 was raised to name the Doctor James Brester Animal Treatment Room within the new shelter. Community members worked hard to raise $80,000, which was matched by the Howard Hughes Passthrough Fund at the Brown County Community Foundation with an additional $120,000 toward the naming opportunity.
Megan Gushwa, development manager for the Brown County Humane Society says, “We are ecstatic to be able to make this announcement and share the great news with everyone who made this possible. From all of us at the humane society, as well as Doc Brester and his family, thank you.”
With the $200,000 for the Dr. Brester challenge, the total raised for the new shelter building stands at $3,086,081 of the $3.2 million goal.
Groundwork is expected to begin in spring of 2020.
